Bishop O'Dowd had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over the Tennyson Lancers. The Dragons' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Among those leading the charge was Matteo Tarantino, who threw for 206 yards and two TDs on only nine passes, and also punched in one rushing score.

As for Tennyson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 12.8 points allowed.

Despite the loss, Tennyson still got an impressive performance from Montrell Rice-Tuigamala, who rushed for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Rice-Tuigamala showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Dowd will challenge Castro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tennyson, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Leandro at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
