Basketball Recap: Carter-Riverside Takes a Loss

Carter-Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-14 loss at the hands of the Dunbar Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1485th, while the Wildcats are ranked 587th).

Despite the loss, Carter-Riverside still got an impressive performance from Robert Rodriguez, who posted 12 points and five steals. That was a full 85.7% of Carter-Riverside's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Carter-Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Dunbar, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Carter-Riverside is facing Diamond Hill-Jarvis at the right time seeing as Diamond Hill-Jarvis is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Dunbar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
