Rocky Mount Prep is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were beaten by North Edgecombe 73-30. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Warriors are ranked 228th).

Meanwhile, Northampton County had just enough and edged Weldon out 42-39 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Rocky Mount Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Northampton County, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Rocky Mount Prep came up short against Northampton County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 56-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northampton County's Kaiyah Cherry, who went 10 for 24 en route to 26 points and three blocks.
