The Twin Valley South Panthers's four-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They blew past Newton Local 60-33 at home. That 60-33 margin sets a new team best for Twin Valley South this season.
Twin Valley South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Ray, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ray pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jace Thuma was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Twin Valley South's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Newton Local, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Twin Valley South will head out on the road to face off against Tri-County North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-County North is on a three-game streak of home losses, Twin Valley South an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Newton Local won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Houston at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Houston aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since December 1st.
