Fort Wayne Canterbury barely beat Prairie Heights the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Andrew Maloblocki made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fort Wayne Canterbury is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Maloblocki was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Evans, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ben Hardin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Fort Wayne Canterbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne South Side fell victim to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Saints, falling 8-0. The Archers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fort Wayne Canterbury's record now sits at 7-4. As for Fort Wayne South Side, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Wayne Canterbury has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne South Side struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fort Wayne Canterbury was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Wayne South Side when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
