The East Gaston Warriors had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Stuart W. Cramer on Wednesday. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Patience Shaw was handed one for East Gaston, while Stuart W. Cramer got theirs courtesy of Savannah Powell.
East Gaston was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Payton Lenox and
Tessa Self, who scored all three of East Gaston's goals.
East Gaston will head out on the road to square off against Forestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will be playing at home against North Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
