Basketball Recap: Macksville Takes Down Kiowa County in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Macksville walked away with it. They came out on top against the Kiowa County Mavericks by a score of 57-46 on Monday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 57-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Macksville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heidy Ortiz, who en route to 19 points and five steals. Ortiz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Daniela Reyes, who posted ten points and six steals.

Macksville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

Macksville's record is now 10-11. As for Kiowa County, they now also have a losing record of 10-11.

As of now, neither Macksville nor Kiowa County have any future games scheduled.
