Pinecrest triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Zanodiya Mcnair

Recap: Pinecrest Patriots vs. Hoke County Bucks

There's no place like home for the Pinecrest Patriots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 64-53 win over Hoke County on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Pinecrest, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Zanodiya Mcnair continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Depenbrock, who scored 13 points.

Julianna Macy and Kayeliana Bonner certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Macy scored 12 points along with five rebounds, while Bonner scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Macy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karmen Campbell, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hoke County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Pinecrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Hoke County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinecrest will face off against Union Pines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Pines has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hoke County, they will head out on the road to challenge Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
