Recap: Camelback Spartans vs. North Mustangs
If the Camelback Spartans were riding high off their 47-22 takedown of the Browne Bruins on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Camelback took a serious blow against North on Thursday, falling 59-21. Camelback has not had much luck with North recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Camelback's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emerance Hogoza, who scored six points along with six steals, and Jada Rosado who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
North was led to victory by Ayanna Goode and Xxylina Flores. Goode scored 20 points along with eight steals and five assists, while Flores scored 29 points along with five assists and three steals. Flores has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Barney, who scored eight points.
Camelback has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Camelback and Maryvale will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Maryvale is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for North, they will head out on the road to take on Browne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Browne is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
