Soccer Game Preview: Donna North vs. Harlingen South

The Donna North Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Harlingen South Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Donna North will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Donna North's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Weslaco East. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Harlingen South hadn't done well against Porter recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Harlingen South had just enough and edged Porter out 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Harlingen South is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight contests. As for Donna North, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Donna North's way against Harlingen South in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Donna North made off with a 4-1 victory. Will Donna North repeat their success, or does Harlingen South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
