Baseball Game Preview: Como Park Cougars vs. Harding Knights

For the second straight game, Como Park will face off against Harding. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Como Park has three straight wins, Harding has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Como Park got the win against Harding by a conclusive 15-2.

Eli Savolainen and Hector Caballero III did most of the damage at the plate: Savolainen went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Caballero III got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple. Those three runs gave Savolainen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Klinge, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Como Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Como Park has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harding struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
