Preview: River Ridge vs. Mitchell
On Friday, River Ridge are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Mitchell at 7:30 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against River Ridge, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
River Ridge couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-42 to Pinellas Park. River Ridge were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Mitchell had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Anclote 35-0. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Mitchell are ranked far ahead of Anclote in the MaxPreps rankings.
Mitchell's win lifted them to 1-0 while River Ridge's loss dropped them down to 0-1. River Ridge's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Mitchell defensive front that amassed 4.0 sacks against Anclote, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
