Baseball Recap: Franklinton Wins Going Away Against Kerr-Vance Academy

Franklinton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans with a sharp 13-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Rams considering their one-run performance the game before.

Hudson Deutsch looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Eli Worner was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ravin Pickrel was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Franklinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Franklinton's win bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Franklinton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
