Softball Recap: Cheney Has No Trouble Against Ridgeline

Cheney owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Ridgeline Falcons. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Maddy Hurley, who gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Ridgeline off the board. Hurley has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Millie Beito was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Alyssa Marlow was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Cheney picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-7. As for Ridgeline, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Cheney and Ridgeline will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Blackhawks see the field they'll take on University at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Ridgeline, their break will end when they face Gonzaga Prep at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
