Soccer Recap: Palm Desert Takes a Loss

Palm Desert was the 6-1 winner over Shadow Hills when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Palm Desert Aztecs fell just short of the Shadow Hills Knights by a score of 5-4 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Knights are ranked 254th).

Palm Desert has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-3 record this season. As for Shadow Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.

Palm Desert will square off against Palm Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shadow Hills, they will face off against Rancho Mirage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rancho Mirage comes in on five and Shadow Hills on three.
