Baseball Game Preview: Coleman Comets vs. Morrice Orioles

The Coleman Comets will square off against the Morrice Orioles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Coleman is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Vestaburg on Monday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 9-1.

Coleman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Murray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Morrice was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Genesee Christian by a score of 11-7.

The team relied heavily on Oliver Long, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Austin Lademann was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Morrice, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coleman might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Morrice when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
