Recap: Neligh-Oakdale Warriors vs. O'Neill Eagles
The Neligh-Oakdale Warriors suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-29 loss at the hands of O'Neill. Neligh-Oakdale has not had much luck with O'Neill recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Neligh-Oakdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Horstmann, who scored eight points.
O'Neill was led to victory by Lauryn Dusatko and Hannah Hilker. Dusatko scored 18 points along with nine rebounds, while Hilker scored 15 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dusatko has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Presley Heiss, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Neligh-Oakdale has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for O'Neill, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neligh-Oakdale will take on West Holt at TBD on Tuesday. West Holt is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for O'Neill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norfolk Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Norfolk Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
