Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Temple Christian Crusaders 66-31. The Ospreys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.

Kelsey Threewitts had a dynamite game for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, going 7 for 13 on her way to 16 points and six steals. Threewitts has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Smith, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Temple Christian lost, don't look at Emily DeStafano. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloey Hunter, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Temple Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
