The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will take on the Colchester Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Fair Haven, who was ranked ninth at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked 23rd). The Cougars were beaten by the Slaters 48-7 last Friday. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Colchester and Essex, and Essex kept the tradition alive. The Lakers lost 41-20 to the Hornets last Friday.

Colchester dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mt. Mansfield, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
