Capistrano Valley Christian had won eight straight games and Michael Ahern did his part to make it nine on Tuesday. The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles really took it to the Southlands Christian Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 98-27 win thanks in part to Ahern, who went 14 for 18 on his way to 36 points and four steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Another player making a difference was Matthew Ahern, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave him a new career-high.

Capistrano Valley Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 11.13 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 11.13 in the others. As for Southlands Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
