Football Game Preview: Hawkinsville Red Devils vs. Wilcox County Patriots + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Martin Mcdonald and Melvin McAdoo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hawkinsville Red Devils will square off against the Wilcox County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Hawkinsville lost to Wheeler County on the road by a 36-18 margin. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, Wilcox County made sure to put some points up on the board against Telfair County on Friday. The Patriots enjoyed a cozy 35-16 victory over the Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wilcox County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Hawkinsville fell to 4-1.

Hawkinsville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Wilcox County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 19-15 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
