The Toombs County Bulldogs will stay at home for another game and welcome the Thomson Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on February 24th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Toombs County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Chargers 79-35 at home. With Toombs County ahead 37-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Dominic Eason was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 24 or more points the last three times he's played. Parker Stanley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Fitzgerald scored an imposing 65 points on Wednesday, Thomson still came out on top. Thomson put the hurt on Fitzgerald with a sharp 88-65 victory. The victory was just what Thomson needed coming off of a 67-41 defeat in their prior contest.
Toombs County's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.7 points. As for Thomson, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.
