Highland was sadly handed a defeat on Saturday, but Emerson Gifford did her best to prevent it. Gifford was unstoppable, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though Gifford couldn't lead Highland over Centennial, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are at an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long.
