Softball Recap: Sulphur Golden Tors vs. Southside Sharks
Sulphur posted their closest win since February 27th on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Southside Sharks. The win continues a trend for the Golden Tors in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Pressy White made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs.
White wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keely LaBove, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Sulphur's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur will square off against Lafayette at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southside, they will take on New Iberia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
