Baseball Recap: Papillion-LaVista Takes a Loss

Papillion-LaVista fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Westview on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. The Monarchs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Ryan Thompson and Colton Peters did some serious damage despite the final result: Thompson went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI, while Peters went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Peters' first of the season.

Papillion-LaVista's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Westview, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Papillion-LaVista is set to challenge their familiar foe Elkhorn South on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westview will square off against rival Creighton Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
