The William Blount Governors will face off against the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Christian Academy of Knoxville will be up against a hot William Blount team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. William Blount blew past Hardin Valley Academy 14-1 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Governors considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Katee Owens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Maddie Morton and Blaine Bell did most of the damage at the plate: Morton went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Bell went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Bell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Merriman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
William Blount always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hardin Valley Academy only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy of Knoxville got themselves on the board against Campbell County on Monday, but Campbell County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Emily Bogoski was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Bogoski was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Christian Academy of Knoxville let Halle Bedwell and Gracie Kringen run wild. Bedwell scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Kringen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Sophie Carroll was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
William Blount's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
