Basketball Game Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

The Forest Wildcats will challenge the Lake Howell Silverhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Forest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Crestview by a score of 67-57.

Meanwhile, Lake Howell really took it to Oakleaf for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-42 victory. The Silverhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Lake Howell's win came from a few key players Forest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jadrian De Los Santos, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 12 points and six rebounds. What's more, he also posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Janiel De Los Santos, who put up 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Forest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Lake Howell, their win bumped their record up to 22-6.

Forest and Lake Howell were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, but Forest came up empty-handed after a 40-39 loss. Thankfully for Forest, Wes Bonner (who went 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
