Baseball Recap: Twin Lakes' Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Twin Lakes dropped their record down to 17-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Kokomo Wildkats by a score of 3-2. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Wildkats when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Twin Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Kokomo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Kokomo's side, Isaac Flamino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Flamino has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Twin Lakes will head out on the road to take on North Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kokomo, they will venture away from home to face off against Cascade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cadets are coming into the matchup with 12 straight wins at home, so the Wildkats will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
