Basketball Game Preview: Wayne County Yellow Jackets vs. Long County Blue Tide + Official Tickets

Wayne County and Long County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Yellow Jackets will host the Blue Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Wayne County is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since December 7, 2024 last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Valdosta 49-47.

Wayne County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwayne Smith, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. What's more, Smith posted four steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ralph Doomes, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Long County ended up a good deal behind Vidalia on Saturday and lost 62-43.

Long County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wayne County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Wayne County came up short against Long County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 57-49. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
