Soccer Game Preview: South Gwinnett vs. Central Gwinnett

The South Gwinnett Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Central Gwinnett Black Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Gwinnett has 13 straight wins, Central Gwinnett has 14 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

South Gwinnett will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Rockdale County, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Comets blew past the Bulldogs 7-0 last Friday. Considering South Gwinnett have won 11 matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Rockdale County from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Eylin Orellana Gonzalez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Central Gwinnett scored the most goals they've had this season last Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 4-2 to Tucker.

South Gwinnett's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Central Gwinnett, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
