Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale lost against Richland Center back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chieftains fell 2-0 to the Hornets.

Riverdale was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 12 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12.

Richland Center's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Kohlstedt, who had ten assists and six digs. That's the most digs Kohlstedt has posted over her last three matches. Kylie Burns also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Riverdale has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Richland Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Riverdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Seneca on the 27th. As for Richland Center, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Necedah on the 27th.
