Locust Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Union Grove Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Locust Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Union Grove is ranked seventh).
Locust Grove suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Jones County 74-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Locust Grove has suffered against Jones County since January 29, 2021.
Meanwhile, Union Grove waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Northside 56-28 at home. Union Grove has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Locust Grove's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.6 points per game. As for Union Grove, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.
Locust Grove was taken down by Union Grove 69-18 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Locust Grove was down 39-8.
