Basketball Recap: New Site Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hatley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Site). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 83-52 win over the Hatley Tigers. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

New Site was led to victory by Chloe Chism and Bella Green. Chism posted 22 points along with six steals and five assists, while Green earned 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Green is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Johna Lindley was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: New Site was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

New Site has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Hatley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

New Site will host Mooreville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Site is on a four-game streak of home wins, Mooreville a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Hatley has already played their next matchup (against East Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
