Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 56-42 to the Neuse Christian Academy Lions. The Lion were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Luke Kinder posted 14 points and five rebounds. Those 14 points gave Kinder a new career-high. Judah Schaad was another key player, putting up four points and six assists.

Neuse Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aidan Graham, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Westin Tilley, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Neuse Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 2-8 record.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill has already played their next matchup, a 44-43 victory against Thales Academy Rolesville on the 16th. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-20 win against Cristo Rey Research Triangle on the 17th.
