Basketball Game Preview: Middlesboro Yellowjackets vs. Clay County Tigers

The Middlesboro Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Clay County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Middlesboro is headed into Tuesday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They lost 74-49 to Harlan on Friday.

Meanwhile, Clay County lost to Wolfe County on the road by a 60-45 margin on Saturday.

Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Middlesboro, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-6.

Middlesboro came up short against Clay County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 47-42. Can Middlesboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
