Basketball Recap: Applewood Christian Find Success

Applewood Christian hadn't done well against Mid-Missouri HomeSchool recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Applewood Christian made off with a 33-32 victory over the Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-28 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mid-Missouri HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Taylor Dorr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Dorr a new career-high in steals. Raelynn Steele was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Applewood Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Applewood Christian will square off against Show-Me Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, they will welcome North Missouri HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
