Tohatchi won the last time they faced Thoreau and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tohatchi Cougars really took it to the Thoreau Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-33 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Thoreau saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Woodie posted 14 points.

Tohatchi is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Thoreau, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

The future could be bright for both Tohatchi and Thoreau: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Tohatchi will look to extend Newcomb's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thoreau will try to hand Zuni their tenth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
