Softball Recap: Crismon Beats Prescott for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Crismon entered their tilt with Prescott on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Badgers. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

Emma Phelps tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Crismon let Alexis Galvez and Riley Mitchell run wild. Galvez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Mitchell went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Mitchell has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Skylar DaCosta, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Crismon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 15-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Crismon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Prescott, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crismon will host ALA - Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Rattlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Prescott, they will be playing at home against Mingus at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Marauders will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
