Softball Recap: Weslaco Comes Up Short

Weslaco and Johnson squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Weslaco had to settle for second. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 on Friday.

This is the second loss in a row for Weslaco and nudges their season record down to 20-12. As for Johnson, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 26-4-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Weslaco beat the Jaguars by a score of 5-4 later that day.
