Basketball Recap: Flagler Comes Up Short

If Flagler was feeling good fresh off their 54-29 takedown of Deer Trail last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flagler Panthers were beaten by the Limon Badgers 64-17 on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Flagler lost, don't look at Braden Hill. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and seven boards.

Leading Limon to victory were Drey Tacha and Keagan Mellott. Tacha went 9 for 12 en route to 21 points and three steals, while Mellott went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Tacha a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Forristall, who scored six points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Flagler has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Limon, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Flagler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-39 loss against Byers on the 24th. As for Limon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-49 defeat against Denver Christian on the 18th.
