Softball Recap: Vernon Vikings vs. Newton Braves

Vernon barely beat Newton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Braves on Thursday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Miranda Ebbighausen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one RBI.
