Soccer Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short at Home Against Wooddale

Melrose unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Wooddale Cardinals on Wednesday, falling 8-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Wildcats of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Wooddale and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Melrose will head out to square off against Sheffield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wooddale, they will challenge Memphis East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
