Basketball Game Preview: Edgewater Eagles vs. Windermere Wolverines

The Edgewater Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Windermere Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Windermere will be up against a hot Edgewater squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Edgewater put the hurt on Oak Ridge with a sharp 74-52 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Windermere, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 70-39 win over Lake Minneola. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Hawks are ranked 142nd), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edgewater has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Windermere, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Edgewater didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Windermere in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 90-85 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edgewater since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
