Softball Recap: Chester Gets the Win

Chester won the last time they faced Okawville and things went their way on Monday too. The Yellowjackets had just enough and edged out the Rockets 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Lexie Mott was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Mott was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Anna Menefee was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Elaina Lutman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Chester's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Okawville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Okawville has already played their next matchup (against Mulberry Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chester will be paying especially close attention to the Rockets' contest: after the Rockets face off against the Aces, they'll take on Chester again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
