Volleyball Game Preview: Hinsdale Central Red Devils vs. Stagg Chargers

The Hinsdale Central Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Stagg Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Hinsdale Central didn't have quite enough to beat Lyons and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Hinsdale Central might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Lyons: every set was decided by two points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 27-25.

Despite the defeat, Hinsdale Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Braden Degnan had 22 assists.

Meanwhile, Stagg came up short against Lincoln-Way East on Wednesday and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16.

Hinsdale Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-22. As for Stagg, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-19.
