Baseball Recap: West Find Success

While West didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Science Hill Hilltoppers by a score of 11-7 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rebels have won by exactly four runs.

The team relied heavily on Morgan Ferrell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Moffett, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for West and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Science Hill, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Coming up, West will be taking part in a tournament against West Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Science Hill, they will welcome Montgomery Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
