Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Ralston

Ralston had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the York Dukes. Ten seems to be a good number for the Rams as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Nick Benis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Bryson Sargent was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Graham, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Ralston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Ralston's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for York, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
