Football Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy

North Raleigh Christian Academy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 41-12). They really took it to the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-20 victory. With the Knights ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Davin McCoy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 251 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 122.7 rushing yards per game. John Amanchukwu was in the mix too, providing North Raleigh Christian Academy with one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Raleigh Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 78.8 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 234.3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will host Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roanoke Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
