Wilkinson County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stratford Academy Eagles. On the bright side, the 34- point effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Quenterrion Stanford threw for 403 yards and four touchdowns. Myles Cobb was his top target, picking up 216 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

As for Stratford Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. 40 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Tyler Stephens was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 170 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass.

Wilkinson County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 44-19 loss against Academy for Classical Education on the 12th. As for Stratford Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-13 win against Frederica Academy on the 12th.
