Basketball Recap: Southwest SD Starts Season with Win Against San Diego Jewish Academy

Southwest SD gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions by a score of 54-43. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Noah Soltero had a dynamite game, putting up 24 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Elijah Traylor was another key player, earning 11 points.

San Diego Jewish Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Southwest SD will head out to face off against Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain Empire at 5:00 p.m. on December 1.
